Central NJ Fall Wedding Themes

October 27, 2015 | Posted in Weddings

Just because you’re getting married in autumn in New Jersey doesn’t mean your décor has to be all pumpkins, all the time. There’s much more to fall than that. Here are some of our favorite inspirations for fall themes and some of the best ways you can use our Central New Jersey wedding venue, the Windsor Ballroom at the Holiday Inn East Windsor, to make the most of it.

Rustic and Natural: The fall season brings images of a bountiful fall harvest and a return to simple, whimsical times. You can never go wrong with adding natural décor – think mason jars, simple floral arrangements, lots of twine, and wine bottles – to your ceremony or reception space. Inside the ballroom, ask about the Windsor Ballroom’s wedding accessories to add hues of orange and gold to your table settings or lighting. Here are a few ideas for that dreamy country-inspired look:

Sports Season: A truly creative twist, a sports-themed wedding is a great way to celebrate you and your spouse’s shared passion for football, hockey, baseball – or whoever you may cheer for! This theme can be colorful, cheerful, and bold – and a great way to encourage the celebratory feeling of the day. For décor, think team signs, balloons, and props for the tables – the more creative, the better. (Bonus: Pair your theme with the Windsor Ballroom’s amazing wedding menu offerings, like the Man Cave Station, to round out the authentic tailgate feel). See how one of our couples at our sister venue, the Crystal Ballroom, incorporated the sports theme on their special day below.

School Days: There’s something warm and nostalgic about a pretty pile of books or an old-fashioned notebook and pen. While your wedding doesn’t have to be explicitly school-themed, details such as centerpieces made from your favorite novels, cheerful chalkboard signs, or a vintage-looking journal for a guestbook can make your fall wedding feel all the more magical.
